The first joint application of the spring starts on January 3, 2024 and ends on January 17, 2024. The joint application includes English-language Bachelor and Master level degrees. New in the application is the bilingual Tourism and Hospitality Management degree program, which is aimed especially at immigrants.

At Savonia University of Applied Sciences, there are a total of 85 study places available in the fields of business, tourism and hospitality, health care, and engineering.

– In 2024, we will have fewer starting places available in the joint application than usual, because we have organized a separate application before the joint application and have already filled some of the starting places for next fall, says Director of Student Services Anne Koskela.

A new Tourism and Hospitality Management degree program available

Among Savonia’s programs is a completely new, bilingual Tourism and Hospitality Management degree, which is a completely new kind of program and is aimed especially at people with immigrant background living in Finland. The degree program prepares the student for a career in the tourism and hospitality industry, where there is and will continue to be a demand for skilled workers. In the bilingual degree, studying the Finnish language plays a significant role.

– International students bring their know-how to the region of Eastern Finland, thus renewing the working life here. Therefore, in Savonia, the number of international students is increased and their commitment to working life is supported. The development of Finnish language skills and networking with companies in the region is an essential part of the teaching in international degrees, says Director of Internationality Virpi Laukkanen.
