Savonia started 2022 with the celebrations of its 30th anniversary. Today, the celebrations continue as the university hits a new record number of applicants to its international bachelor degree programmes.
The first joint application period to higher education was held from 5-19 January. During this period, Savonia received a total of 5,595 applications. This result represents a 159% increase compared to the total amount of bachelor degree applications received in 2021 (2,160).
The bachelor degree with the highest number of applicants was the Bachelor of Health Care, Registered Nurse programme (1,929 applicants) followed by the Bachelor of Business Administration, International Business programme (1,916 applicants). The countries with the highest number of applicants were Nigeria, Bangladesh and Nepal. Savonia also received applications from e.g. Germany, France and USA.
The four bachelor degree programmes that were open for application were:
- Bachelor of Business Administration, International Business
- Bachelor of Engineering, Information Technology (Internet of Things)
- Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Industrial Management)
- Bachelor of Health Care, Registered Nurse
