Savonia University of Applied Sciences founded the Bio and Circular Cluster North Savo (BIOCC) together with University of Eastern Finland, Natural Resources Institute Finland, and Savo Vocational College. The cluster was also registered to the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) in May 2022. BIOCC supports the growth of companies in the industry by bringing together the best specialists in the development of technology, products, and services as well as business.

The ecosystem has as members many different sized companies, that are in the field as well as companies that otherwise aim to promote the bio- and circular economy in their operations. The Bio and Circular Economy Cluster offers its members opportunity to participate networking events, education, visibility in the domestic and international markets of the bioeconomy field, the opportunity to join in the ecosystem’s national and international project preparations, and information on the latest development trends and news.

September 7^th, 2022 the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) hosted the autumn’s first Cluster Talks, with the theme Bio-based products: The key to climate neutrality? Bio and Circular Cluster North-Savo got to share greetings from BIOCC and some thoughts on the subject at the beginning.
