UAS degree through open UAS

Becoming a degree student through pathway studies

The pathway studies of the open university of applied sciences offer an alternative route to becoming a degree student. You can apply to be a degree student in Savonia’s separate application once you have completed at least 60 ECTS of studies at Savonia’s open UAS. Completed open UAS studies are credited towards the degree.

The scope of pathway studies is 60 credits and the right to study is 12 months. As a rule, the studies must be completed in this time. As an UAS pathway student, you basically study your first year studies with a group of degree students.

There is no basic education requirement for UAS pathway studies, but aptitude for some fields of study is required (e.g. music and dance). Pathway study places are available for almost all degree programs and the offer varies every year. There are limited study places and study places are filled in order of registration. Transferred credits cannot be included in pathway studies.

Enrollment in pathway studies

Pathway studies are published and registered for in the study calendar.

Enrollment for pathway studies starting in the fall of 2024 at the Savonia campuses is August 7-14, 2024.

The pathway study fee is 350 euros, which must be paid within 2 days of registration. The student is responsible for other costs during the studies.

Subsidies and benefits

Studying at the open university of applied sciences does not entitle you to student financial aid or student benefits. If you are an unemployed job seeker, discuss the studies with the TE services before registering for studies. After the pathway studies, the student is entitled to the benefits of a university student as a degree student.
