Savonia as a finalist in the “Employer Brand of the Year 2023” category at Rekrygaala
Savonia gained recognition for its attractive employer brand work when it was selected as a top three finalist for Rekrygaala’s Employer Brand of the Year 2023.
Rekrygaala is an annual event organized since 2018, where the most important actions and best successes in the recruitment field are awarded. The Employer Brand of the Year award is given to an employer who has systematically built an attractive employer brand. The awarding criteria emphasize long-term and strategic employer brand work. The 2023 Rekrygaala jury consisted of nine experienced business professionals familiar with recruitment, employer branding and management.
Savonia the 14th best workplace in Europe
Savonia was ranked 14th in the Best Workplaces in Europe list. The Best Workplaces in Europe were announced on September 22, 2023. To get on the list, the company must first be ranked in the national Best Workplaces list. There were 10 Finnish companies on the list in the year 2023.

Savonia receives recognition as an athlete-friendly university
On September 21, 2023, Savonia University of Applied Sciences was granted the Athlete-Friendly University quality label by the Finnish Olympic Committee.
The goal of the quality work of athlete-friendly universities is to improve the conditions for athletes to complete their university studies while focusing on their development in sports.
The athlete-friendly university quality label is valid for five years from publication.

Savonia is Finland’s best workplace 2023
Savonia University of Applied Sciences has been selected as the best workplace in Finland in the category of large companies in the Finland’s Best Workplaces™ list. The victory is historic, since there has never been an educational organization in the first place before. With this great recognition, Savonia wants to offer its know-how to create a good work culture to others as well.
The win was brought about by an excellent employee experience. The employees’ trust in Savonia is top notch: 93 percent of respondents consider Savonia a really good place to work. In a typical Finnish company, the corresponding figure is 38 percent.
Great Place To Work® has published Finland’s Best Workplaces™ list since 2002. It is a well-known and respected recognition in Finland and worldwide, which tells about the company’s good employee experience.

Savonia University of Applied Sciences received the Great Place To Work certification™ in the 2023–2024 season.
The Great Place To Work certification™ is a reliable and globally respected recognition that speaks of an excellent employee experience, a corporate culture based on trust and a commitment to building a good workplace.
The employee experience has been studied with the Trust Index personnel survey, and therefore the certification is based on the genuine experiences of our employees.

Quality label of the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre 2022
Strategy orientation, accessibility and openness emerged as Savonia’s strengths in the quality audit conducted by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre.

An approved audit is proof that Savonia’s operations and quality system meet both national and European criteria for quality assurance in higher education institutions. The audit focuses on the procedures of higher education institutions, which maintain and develop the quality of education, research and social interaction and effectiveness.
Savonia received the quality label on March 16, 2022, and it is valid for six years.
The EUR-ACE quality label of the Mechanical Engineering degree program in March 2022
Savonia’s Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s degree program has passed the EUR-ACE evaluation maintained by the ENAEE organization. It is a European engineering organization that evaluates engineering degree programs.

The aim of accreditation is to support the development of quality in engineering degree programs and to increase the international comparability and recognition of Finnish engineering degrees in working life.
The basis of the assessment is the knowledge, skills and competencies that those studying in engineering programs should achieve in their degree to be able to function successfully in working life.

Honorable mention in OAJ’s (Trade Union of Education) School, Educational Institution or Daycare Center of the Year 2020 competition
Savonia University of Applied Sciences received an honorable mention in OAJ’s School, educational institution or daycare center of the year 2020 competition. The reasons for the honorable mention were e.g. Savonia’s staff and students’ influencing opportunities. According to the reasons for the honorable mention, they are actively involved in the development of Savonia. The studies are progressing well, and Savonia is an internationally interesting place to study. The educational institution has also hired a Welfare Counsellor to promote students’ coping and well-being. Many different measures have been invested in the well-being of the personnel.
