| Description | In the big picture, the future of industrial companies is heading towards global, demand-driven, order-specific and, in certain cases, distributed production, where traceability, sustainability and learning from realized production are a key part of the production chain. This is made possible by collecting and utilizing product-, production-, and production facility-related information, i.e., data, as well as developing capabilities that support digitization and sustainability, and by fostering collaboration networks at the national and international levels.
It has been widely recognized, and already effectively utilized by many large companies, that data is a powerful asset when utilized correctly, as it can for example create completely new business and innovation opportunities. In addition, information related to products and production plays a significant role in the development of a company's own operations (profitability assessments, identification of bottlenecks, orientation of new employees, production responsibility). However, the current state of production data and the utilization of its various forms is generally inadequate among companies in the small and medium-sized sector of the industry. TUOVA is a project aimed at the manufacturing industry, where data related to the production environment is identified and harnessed to support sustainable development and management with concrete solutions. The project's actions consist of concise, yet continuous identification and application of available information, piloting of new, demand-driven technical solutions and applications, and making the actions visible through workshops and publications, for example. In addition, the project aims to promote the development of national and international RDI consortia in the field of manufacturing industry digitization by bringing together actors and expertise and conducting active knowledge exchange. The results will include concrete solutions to support the sustainable development and management of production, as well as increased capabilities for stakeholders in terms of sustainability and promoting digitization. |
| Partners | TUOVA on kahden projektin muodostama kokonaisuus, jota toteuttavat Savonia-ammattikorkeakoulu ja Lappeenrannan-Lahden tekninen yliopisto (LUT). Mukana on suoraan 9 kpl suomalaisia valmistavan teollisuuden pk-yrityksiä, sekä välillisesti joukko muita yrityksiä ja TKIO-toimijoita hankkeen mentoreina. |
