| Description | The project consists of three complementary project sections: 1) an investment project (ERDF investment Pohjois- Savon Liitto), 2) design and implementation of equipment (ERDF activities, Association of Northern Savonia) and 3) commissioning, testing and optimization (ESF action project, ELY). The goal of the project is to build, deploy and test a new pilot-scale continuous thermochemical biomass reactor. The reactor capacity is about 60-90 kg / h at the inlet and about 20-30 kg / h at the biochar outlet. The reactor allows solid biomass (torrefaction or pyrolysis to carbon) and distillate recovery (condensed distillates from different stages and at different temperatures). The technology will be installed in a sea container to make the equipment user-friendly and easy to transport.
This project focuses on the implementation, testing and optimization of the equipment. Product safety and the consideration of possible environmental impacts for the further utilization of new bioproduct blanks are also essential to be clarified at an early stage of development. The aim is to study the safety of products for both people and the environment, ie what kind of gaseous, solid (possibly also nanoparticles) or liquid substances are released from them and how much. |
| Partners | Savonia-ammattikorkeakoulu toteuttaa hanketta yhdessä Itä-Suomen yliopiston ja paikallisten yritysten kanssa.
Hankkeen varsinaiset kohderyhmät ovat pohjoissavolaiset biotalouden yritykset, palveluyritykset, toiminnanharjoittajat, maa- ja metsätalouden harjoittajat sekä oppi- ja tutkimuslaitokset. Lisäksi kohderyhmänä ovat biotalousalan toimijat laajemmin kansallisesti. Kohderyhmänä ovat kaikki biopohjaisten sivuvirtojen tuottajat sekä näiden jatkokäyttäjät. Hanke tuottaa osaltaan tietoa erityyppisille kohderyhmille kuten poliittiset päättäjät, kansalaisjärjestöt, ProAgria, MTK jne. liittyen hiilen sidontaan ja biomassojen hyödyntämiseen kestävän kehityksen mukaisesti. Hankkeessa kehitettyä osaamista ja tiivistä yritysyhteistyötä hyödynnetään myös korkeakoulujen opetuksessa. |
